About Us
The Fade Outs are a high energy 4-piece cover band from St. Louis Missouri focusing on playing the best danceable hits from the 1980’s. Our stage show brings the fun, whimsical, and edgy vibes of the 80’s to life as we blaze through a diverse setlist packed with rock, new wave, pop, and synthwave. Our goal is to bring you a mixture of those classic radio hits that never get old as well as bangers that you forgot you loved! But who are we? Where did we come from?
Each member of The Fade Outs has been playing music and performing in various capacities for over 35 years. Our lead guitarist and band leader, Ronnie, began playing guitar at the ripe old age of 14 years, when he sold the skateboard he’d saved for months for (a Vision Psycho Stick with Tracker trucks and Slimeball wheels, in case you were wondering) to buy his first guitar. He hasn’t looked back since and has played guitar (and bass too!) in a variety of original and cover bands including Supercrush, Movie Star Kiss, and Local Distortion. The Fade Outs were formed in 2023 as a collaboration between Ronnie and his long-time friend and fellow bandmate, Mike, (who served as the original Fade Outs drummer). Our bass player, Brian, has also been rocking since his mid-teens, and has played bass and guitar in several bands over the years – Supercrush and Fuktupalupagus among them. In addition to laying down the grooviest bass lines ever in the The Fade Outs, Brian also plays guitar in the original rock band Preacher Clark. TFO drummer, Steve, is yet another multi-instrumentalist who has played guitar, bass, and drums in numerous metal and rock bands since high school. His resume includes playing guitar in Vampire Moose, bass and drums in Homeless in Hollywood, and serving as the current drummer for Part Time Problems and The Andrew David Weber Band. Our lead singer, Desiree, started playing music in second grade and since that time she has played piano, alto saxophone, bass guitar, and ukulele off and on over the years. She also spent over 20 years as a performing bellydancer and soloist in two St. Louis dance troupes. The Fade Outs is the first rock band she has played in since her high school band, Nubile, and she brings years of experience entertaining and engaging audiences to her role with The Fade Outs. Desiree is also an award-winning cosplayer, so she can't help but be just a little bit extra when putting together her stage fits!
